Disney Cruise Line uses two different pre-sailing forms for dietary requests. Lifestyle or cultural requests go through the Special Requests form at least 35 days before sailing. Severe or life-threatening allergy requests go through the Special Services form no later than three days before embarkation. Both forms are in My Reservations.
After boarding, tell the dining team directly about the allergy or dietary request, even when it was included during booking. Keep that conversation tied to the actual meal you are about to order.
Open the current request instructions
The forms sit in My Reservations. Review the current categories and deadlines before submitting.
Find Disney Cruise Line's dietary request formsChoose the form by the type of request
| Request type | Form in My Reservations | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Lifestyle or cultural dietary request | Special Requests | At least 35 days before the sailing date |
| Severe or life-threatening food allergy | Special Services | No later than 3 days before embarkation |
The deadlines are easy to mix up because both forms live in My Reservations. Use the category that matches the request rather than treating the three-day allergy deadline as the general deadline for every diet.
Earlier is better. The published deadline tells you the latest point Disney gives for the request, not a reason to wait until the final day.
What to do before sailing
- Open My Reservations for the sailing.
- Choose Special Requests for a lifestyle or cultural request, or Special Services for a severe or life-threatening allergy.
- Submit before the applicable deadline.
- Keep a plain-language description of the request handy for the onboard dining conversation.
The public instructions do not describe every field or confirmation screen. Follow the form shown for the reservation instead of relying on an older screenshot or a walkthrough from another sailing.
What the listed table-service choices cover
Table-service menus include gluten-free, vegetarian, no-sugar-added, dairy-free and lighter-fare options. Those categories describe menu offerings. They do not promise that every dish, venue or sailing can meet every dietary need.
Jain meals are a ship-specific exception offered exclusively on the Disney Adventure. Do not assume the option carries across the rest of the fleet.
For how assigned dining rooms and serving teams work, use our Disney Cruise Line rotational dining guide. The room service guide covers a different ordering system and does not replace the dietary-request process.
Tell the dining team directly onboard
Tell the dining team directly, even when the allergy was entered during booking. Do that before ordering the first meal, then confirm the request again when the dish or venue changes.
- State the allergy or dietary request clearly.
- Ask how the particular meal can be prepared.
- Confirm ingredients and handling for the dish being ordered.
- Repeat the conversation when a new venue, menu or meal calls for it.
This is a practical meal-by-meal check, not a medical risk assessment. The dining team can explain the current preparation and choices available onboard.
No separate allergy kitchen or allergen-free guarantee
Onboard kitchens take steps to prevent cross-contact, but there are no separate allergy-friendly kitchens. No menu item is guaranteed to be completely free of allergens.
That limitation matters when deciding whether a listed menu category answers the actual concern. A “gluten-free” or “dairy-free” listing is useful information, but it does not erase the need to discuss a severe allergy with the dining team.
First-meal checklist
- Submit the correct form before the deadline.
- Tell the dining team directly after boarding.
- Describe the request before ordering.
- Ask about the specific dish and its preparation.
- Remember that there is no separate allergy-friendly kitchen.
