All three Disneyland Resort hotels have 24-hour self-service laundry. Disneyland Hotel has one room in the Discovery Tower, Pixar Place Hotel has one on the second floor, and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has two.
Bring a credit or debit card. Those are the only accepted payment methods for the washers, dryers and soap vending machines at the hotel laundry locations. Posted machine prices can change, so check the display before loading your clothes.
Where to find each hotel laundry room
Disneyland Hotel
- Hours: 24 hours
- Location: Discovery Tower
- Backup option: Disneyland Hotel guests may also use the laundry facilities at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Grand Californian
- Hours: 24 hours
- First floor: By the Disney Vacation Club wing
- Second floor: Above the Napa Rose elevators
Pixar Place Hotel
- Hours: 24 hours
- Location: At the rear of the second floor, past the administrative offices
The Grand Californian gives guests two choices, which can help when one room is busy. At the other hotels, note the room location before leaving your guest room. Hotel layouts and elevator routes are easier to sort out before you are carrying a full laundry bag.
How to pay for washers, dryers and soap
Credit and debit cards are currently the only accepted payment methods at the hotel laundry locations. The rule covers washers, dryers and the soap vending machines. Do not count on coins or cash.
Dependable per-load prices are not published on the hotel amenity pages. Read the amount on the machine before starting a cycle. If a card is declined or a machine does not start, call the hotel operator from a house phone or ask the Front Desk rather than paying repeatedly.
Before you start the first load
- Confirm the price shown on the washer and dryer.
- Make sure the card can handle several small travel purchases.
- Check whether detergent is available before loading the washer.
- Take a photo of the machine number if you need to report a problem.
Which laundry room should you use?
Use the laundry room at your own hotel unless the hotel gives you another option. Disneyland Hotel guests may also use the Grand Californian laundry facilities. The same reciprocal permission is not published for Pixar Place Hotel or Grand Californian guests, so do not assume that every hotel room is open to every resort guest.
If you plan to use the Grand Californian as a Disneyland Hotel guest, ask the Front Desk how to enter the building and laundry area with your current room credentials. Access procedures can change, and the public amenity page does not spell out the door route.
Pick a time that does not eat the park day
The rooms are open around the clock, but 24-hour access does not guarantee an empty machine. Early morning and the hour after the parks close can attract other guests with the same plan.
- Start with enough time for two cycles. A wash and dry can take longer than expected when a dryer needs extra time.
- Set a phone timer. Return before the cycle ends so another guest is not waiting on your load.
- Split the work. One person can handle laundry while the rest of the group gets ready, rests at the pool or picks up food.
- Leave a buffer before checkout. Do not begin the only load of the trip right before you need to vacate the room.
A midday hotel break is often the least disruptive choice. Start a load, shower or eat nearby, then move it promptly. The laundry room should be part of the break rather than a separate event.
A small laundry kit earns its suitcase space
- A credit or debit card that is easy to reach
- A compact laundry bag or reusable tote
- Stain remover for sunscreen, food and park grime
- Detergent sheets or pods packed in a sealed container, if you prefer your own
- A dryer sheet, if you use one
- A phone timer for both cycles
Detergent is available from the soap vending machines, but bringing your own avoids finding out that your preferred product is unavailable. Keep pods and liquids sealed and away from children.
