Universal Studios Hollywood Lockers: Locations and Ride Rules

Choose between paid front-of-park storage and short-term attraction lockers before a bag or loose phone slows down the day.

Universal Studios Hollywood has two different locker setups. Paid lockers near the front of the park can be reopened throughout the day. Small lockers at select attractions are free for short-term storage while you ride.

Use the front lockers for a backpack, jacket or purchases you want to leave in one place. Use an attraction locker when the ride's loose-item rules require it.

Rates and locker dimensions can change. Check the current park-services page or the locker bank before paying, and do not build the day's packing plan around a saved screenshot.

Front-of-park lockers

The front-of-park lockers sit near the main entrance and accept cash and credit cards. They can be opened more than once during the day, which makes them the practical choice for layers, a larger bag or purchases you will not need in every queue.

Availability is not guaranteed. Keep medication, tickets, identification and anything needed on short notice with you rather than planning repeated walks back to the entrance.

Attractions with lockers

Attraction lockers are currently available at:

  • Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift
  • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
  • Jurassic World - The Ride
  • Revenge of the Mummy - The Ride

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift also uses a metal detector and prohibits loose articles on the attraction. Put phones, wallets, keys, hats, cameras and other loose items in the provided locker or leave them with someone who is not riding.

Loose-item rules vary by ride

A locker being nearby does not mean every item follows the same rule. Cellphones, backpacks, hats and stuffed animals may need to be secured on the vehicle, left with a non-rider or placed in a locker. Umbrellas, selfie sticks and canes also must be secured so they cannot extend from the ride vehicle.

Check the sign and ask a Team Member at the attraction, especially when the group carries a rigid bag, mobility aid, camera equipment or anything too large for the free locker.

Finger scans and the paid alternative

Some attraction lockers may use a finger scan to register the renter and reopen the correct locker. The system stores a numerical template rather than a fingerprint image and uses it to verify access.

If you do not want to use a finger scan, paid lockers inside the main entrance are available without one. This alternative is less convenient for a single ride because it requires a return to the front of the park.

Pack for the locker you expect to use

  • Use a soft-sided bag when possible. It is easier to fit than a rigid box or overfilled backpack.
  • Separate the items needed in queues from the things that can stay at the entrance.
  • Keep one person responsible for the locker location and access steps.
  • Photograph or note the locker bank and number only if the on-screen instructions allow it.
  • Confirm the current price before committing to a larger or longer-use locker.
