Universal Studios Hollywood has three service-animal relief stations: one in the Upper Lot, one in the Lower Lot and one outside the park. Six ride vehicles cannot accommodate service animals. Kennels are available at rides, but ask a Team Member about the current process before committing to a queue.
Service animals are welcome in restaurants, shows and retail locations. They must remain on a harness, leash or tether unless that equipment interferes with the animal's work or the guest's disability prevents its use. In that case, the handler must maintain control through voice, signals or another effective method.
Set the route at park entry
The outside relief station is by accessible parking, adjacent to the security checkpoint. If you arrive by car, it is the easiest stop to use before entering the park. Once inside, note which lot you are visiting first. The park's two indoor stations are separated by the Starway, so a quick stop before changing levels can save a long return trip.
Keep the current Guide for Safety and Accessibility on your phone. It lists attraction-specific boarding details and is the best place to recheck restrictions before the visit.
The three service-animal relief stations
Upper Lot
By the entrance to the Studio Tour.
This is the practical stop before the Studio Tour or before taking the Starway down to the Lower Lot.
Lower Lot
Next to the Starway, across from the Jurassic World lagoon.
Use this stop before Lower Lot rides or before riding the Starway back up.
Outside the park
By accessible parking, adjacent to the security checkpoint.
This can work before entry and again after leaving the park.
Ask a Team Member for directions if construction, crowd control or a temporary route makes a station hard to reach.
Six ride vehicles cannot accommodate service animals
These ride vehicles cannot accommodate service animals because of the nature of the experience:
- Flight of the Hippogriff
- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
- Jurassic World - The Ride
- Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge
- Revenge of the Mummy - The Ride
- The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash
Do not use an old attraction list as the final word. Recheck the current accessibility guide and confirm the procedure with a Team Member at the ride entrance.
Ask about the kennel before entering the queue
Service-animal kennels are available at rides. Ask a Team Member where the kennel is, when it can be used and how the attraction's queue procedure works. A kennel is not a signal that a Team Member will handle or supervise the animal.
- Confirm the restriction. Show the ride name or point to it in the accessibility guide.
- Ask where the kennel is. Learn the location before joining the line.
- Choose who stays responsible for the animal. Set that plan before the party separates.
- Ask how the party boards. Follow the attraction's current instructions rather than assuming every ride uses the same handoff.
- Check the nearest relief stop. For Lower Lot rides, the station by the Starway is the closest published option.
For other attractions, check the vehicle and boarding instructions
Some attractions admit service animals but have specific requirements. Vehicle floor space and containment vary. The Studio Tour, for example, lists adequate floor space and side barriers, while several other attractions list less floor space.
Ask a Team Member where the animal should sit or stand and whether any part of the experience may affect the animal. The boarding rule answers whether the animal can enter the vehicle. The handler still has to decide whether the noise, movement and effects are appropriate.
A short day-of checklist
- Save the official accessibility page and current PDF guide on your phone.
- Plan the first relief stop around your arrival route.
- Note whether the day begins in the Upper Lot or Lower Lot.
- Mark the six restricted ride vehicles before building the attraction order.
- Ask about the kennel and party procedure at each restricted ride entrance.
- Carry cleanup supplies, water and anything the animal needs during a long park day.
Check Universal Studios Hollywood's current accessibility information before leaving for the park.
