The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration runs through Aug. 9, 2026. Both parks have anniversary entertainment, food, merchandise, attraction additions, PhotoPass extras, and MagicBand+ effects.
Disneyland Park has the biggest concentration of anniversary offerings. Disney California Adventure adds World of Color Happiness, Better Together, special food, and 70th targets at Toy Story Midway Mania.
Dates and scope
The celebration runs through Aug. 9, 2026. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure both have anniversary programming, with Downtown Disney, hotels, shopping, dining, PhotoPass, and MagicBand+ layered around the parks.
Check the entertainment calendar before choosing dining times. Paint the Night, Wondrous Journeys, and World of Color can shape the whole evening.
Entertainment
Paint the Night returns to Disneyland Park with its illuminated floats and Disney characters. Wondrous Journeys adds projections and fireworks on select nights. Tapestry of Happiness covers the facade of "it's a small world" with animated Disneyland memories.
The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade brings Mickey Mouse, Duffy, ShellieMay, and other characters through Disneyland Park. Disney California Adventure has World of Color Happiness, Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!, and a light-and-music moment at Carthay Circle Theatre.
Walt Disney show, Main Street additions, and ride updates
Walt Disney: A Magical Life is now playing at the Main Street Opera House. The experience begins with a film about Walt Disney's life and ends in his office, where an Audio-Animatronics figure tells stories in Walt's own voice. The Opera House gallery follows Disneyland from its earliest plans through the finished park.
Main Street Cinema has a new short film about the Sherman Brothers and "It's a Small World (After All)." The Disney Gallery has added Disneyland art and artifacts, including pieces that had not been shown publicly before.
Storybook Land Canal Boats has a Tangled-inspired scene. "it's a small world" now includes Miguel and Dante from Coco in the Mexico scene. Toy Story Midway Mania has 70th targets placed throughout the game.
A Story of Celebration guided tour
A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour costs $120 per person plus tax and lasts two hours. It includes rides on the Mark Twain Riverboat and Disneyland Railroad, Lightning Lane entry for one selected attraction, reserved viewing for a nighttime spectacular, popcorn, and a keepsake.
Disneyland admission and a same-day park reservation are required and are not included. Reservations open up to 60 days ahead. Guests check in 15 minutes early at Tour Gardens on Main Street, U.S.A., and cancellations inside 24 hours forfeit the $120 tour charge.
Summer add-ons during the celebration
Bluey's Best Day Ever continues at Fantasyland Theatre. Stitch's Interplanetary Beach Party Blast returns to Tomorrowland Terrace for a limited time.
Disney California Adventure has a Disney Friends Dance Party in the Disney Theater during the evening. Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live uses the theater during the day. Families can also pick up activity booklets, including Mickey's Park Rangers at select Disneyland shops, Bina's Guide to the Creatures of Batuu at the Creature Stall, and Mabel's Seek & Find at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
Celebrate Soulfully: Summer Vibes runs through July 19. The Downtown Disney Bubbles Experience runs through Aug. 16, and Soarin' Across America is now playing at Disney California Adventure.
Celebrate Soulfully adds live music, family entertainment, character moments, and food across Disneyland Resort. Downtown Disney District has limited-time bites from June 22 through July 19, including an Original Fried Chicken Sandwich, Red Velvet Whoopie Pie, and specialty drinks, while Disney California Adventure hosts Concerts in the Park and weekend talent-show acts at Paradise Gardens Bandstand.
Disneyland Park has a Tiana's Palace Fried Chicken Bowl from Friday through Monday, a Pineapple Upside-Down Bundt Cake at Plaza Inn, and a trumpet-playing Louis the Alligator sipper at select retail locations. Ariel from the live-action film can appear near "it's a small world," and Tiana can appear in New Orleans Square.
Food and drinks
The celebration has more than 70 food and drink items, including desserts, specialty drinks, and souvenir novelties. Availability varies by location and some items rotate during the event.
Choose a few priorities before the trip and use mobile order when it is available. Leave enough time between dinner and the evening entertainment if Paint the Night or World of Color is a must-do.
Merchandise and collectibles
Anniversary merch covers apparel, accessories, pins, collectibles, and special drops. The newer Finale Collection leans into royal purple, crystal-heavy details, shirts, trading pins, and park-icon pieces, with locations including Disney Showcase, Elias & Co., Emporium, Off the Page, The D-Lander Shop, and World of Disney.
The Key to Disneyland experience includes one of 10 possible trading pins. Other anniversary souvenirs include medallions, pressed coins, MagicBand+ designs, and Topps Disneyland 70th Anniversary trading cards.
Shop early in the trip if a specific size, pin, or design matters. Limited items can disappear before the celebration ends.
PhotoPass, Magic Shots, and MagicBand+
PhotoPass has 70th Celebration Magic Shots, Disney PhotoPass Lenses, and other photo enhancements in both parks. The Mickey and Minnie Magic Shot near the Disneyland Park entrance and Sleeping Beauty Castle is the easy first target.
MagicBand+ has celebration interactions inspired by original Disneyland attractions. Bring a charged band if it is already part of the trip.
Hotels, tickets, and offers
Disneyland's $59 evening ticket is currently unavailable. If you already bought it, the ticket is valid Sundays through Wednesdays from July 12 through Aug. 5, with park reservations required. Disneyland Park entry starts at 7 p.m., while Disney California Adventure entry starts at 5 p.m.
The evening ticket is a better fit for Disney California Adventure if you want more hours for the money. Disneyland Park can still work for fireworks, Paint the Night, and late rides, but 7 p.m. entry leaves less room for dinner, security, and a parade spot.
Anaheim residents get a separate ticket offer starting July 16. Adult tickets are $71 for a 1-day, 1-park ticket or $104 for a 1-day Park Hopper, valid for one visit from July 20 through Oct. 8. Eligible ZIP codes and government-issued photo ID are required for purchase and admission.
The Kids' Summer Ticket Offer gives children ages 3 through 9 a 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket for $50 per child for visits from May 22 through Sept. 7. Two-day and three-day Park Hopper options are also available.
Disneyland Resort hotel stays of four nights or longer can save up to 25% at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel, and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel for stays through Sept. 7. Pixar Place Hotel savings reach 15%. Travel must be completed by Sept. 8.
Registered hotel guests also receive one entry to an eligible Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction during the stay. The benefit does not include Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions. Hotel activities include pool parties, outdoor movies, Dug's Dance Party at Pixar Place Hotel, friendship bracelets, washcloth creations, and drawing classes.
A Park Hopper ticket helps if Paint the Night and World of Color are both priorities. A single-park ticket still works well when the day is built around one park's entertainment.
How to plan it
Build the evening around the shows first. Fit food, shopping, and photos around those fixed times. Walt Disney: A Magical Life and the Main Street exhibits are easier to visit during the day.
Disneyland Park has more 70th-specific offerings for a one-day visit. With two days, use Disney California Adventure for World of Color Happiness, Better Together, the Carthay Circle presentation, and anniversary food.
