Complete Guide to Disneyland Resort’s 70th Celebration

Disneyland's 70th Celebration runs through Aug. 9, 2026, with resort-wide decor, nighttime entertainment, anniversary food and merch, MagicBand+ effects, PhotoPass extras, summer offers, hotel activities, and a few smaller updates that are easy to miss if you only chase rides.

The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration is already underway and runs through Aug. 9, 2026. The anniversary reaches entertainment, decor, food, merchandise, PhotoPass, hotel touches, MagicBand+ interactions, ride updates, summer offers, and family activities in both parks.

A regular Disneyland day can still be a regular Disneyland day. If you want the 70th pieces and the newer summer add-ons, you need to know where they live before the parade and nighttime-show schedule starts squeezing the day.

Dates and scope

The celebration runs through Aug. 9, 2026. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure both have anniversary programming, with Downtown Disney, hotels, shopping, dining, PhotoPass, and MagicBand+ layered around the parks.

If you have one day, choose the entertainment before everything else. If you have two or more days, split the parks and let the celebration pieces fill the natural gaps instead of turning the trip into a checklist.

Entertainment

Paint the Night is the big nostalgia play at Disneyland Park. It is bright, kinetic, and still one of the easiest ways to make the anniversary feel like an occasion instead of a logo package.

Wondrous Journeys brings projection and fireworks energy to Disneyland Park on select nights, while Disney California Adventure has World of Color Happiness. Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! also keeps the daytime parade slot lively at DCA.

Check showtimes before you commit to dining reservations. The entertainment schedule is where the day can get squeezed, especially if you want Paint the Night and World of Color in the same visit window.

Attraction updates and smaller touches

The anniversary has a few attraction details that are easy to miss. Storybook Land Canal Boats has a new Tangled-inspired scene. Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney California Adventure has 70th anniversary stickers placed along the midway.

There are also celebration decorations across the resort, including Sleeping Beauty Castle details and photo-ready areas that will probably be more fun early in the day before the walkways get packed.

Summer add-ons during the celebration

Disneyland Resort now has more family pieces inside the 70th Celebration window. Bluey's Best Day Ever continues at Fantasyland Theatre, while Stitch's Interplanetary Beach Party Blast returns to Tomorrowland Terrace for a limited time.

Disney California Adventure has a new Disney Friends Dance Party in the Disney Theater during the evening, with Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live still using the theater during the day. Families can also pick up activity booklets, including Mickey's Park Rangers at select west-side Disneyland Park shops, Bina's Guide to the Creatures of Batuu at the Creature Stall, and Mabel's Seek & Find at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

Summer also brings dated additions outside the anniversary entertainment stack. Celebrate Soulfully: Summer Vibes runs June 19 through July 19, the Downtown Disney Bubbles Experience runs July 10 through Aug. 16, Soarin' Across America starts July 2 at Disney California Adventure, and the reworked A Walk in Walt's Footsteps guided tour returns Aug. 14.

Food and drinks

The food program is big, with over 70 items across the celebration: anniversary desserts, drinks, novelties, and seasonal refreshes. Some items will rotate as the celebration moves through 2026, so do not assume a snack from one guide will still be sitting there months later.

The best approach is to pick two or three must-try items, mobile order when possible, and avoid eating your way into a parade conflict. Disneyland food lines can quietly steal the exact window you planned to use for a good viewing spot.

Merchandise and collectibles

Anniversary merch covers apparel, accessories, pins, collectibles, and special drops. The newer Finale Collection leans into royal purple, crystal-heavy details, shirts, trading pins, and park-icon pieces, with locations including Disney Showcase, Elias & Co., Emporium, Off the Page, The D-Lander Shop, and World of Disney.

The Key to Disneyland experience also has new pins, with 10 possible designs. That one has a built-in collecting loop, which means it can turn from casual souvenir to mini-quest pretty quickly. The broader collectible stack includes 70th Celebration MagicBand+ interactions, medallions, pressed coins, and Topps Disneyland 70th Anniversary trading cards, including some Disneyland-only and DisneyStore.com card designs.

If you care about sizes, styles, or limited designs, shop earlier in the trip. Waiting until the last night works fine for a magnet. It is less useful for a specific shirt, pin, or anniversary item that half the resort also wants.

PhotoPass, Magic Shots, and MagicBand+

PhotoPass has 70th Celebration Magic Shots, Disney PhotoPass Lenses, and other photo enhancements in both parks. The Mickey and Minnie Magic Shot near the Disneyland Park entrance and Sleeping Beauty Castle is the easy first target.

MagicBand+ also has celebration interactions inspired by original Disneyland attractions. If you already travel with a band, bring it charged. If you do not, this is a nice extra, not a reason to rebuild the whole budget.

Hotels, tickets, and offers

The Kids' Summer Ticket Offer gives children ages 3 through 9 a 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket for $50 per child for visits from May 22 through Sept. 7. Two-day and three-day Park Hopper options are also available.

Disneyland Resort is also discounting select hotel stays by up to 15% for Sunday through Thursday nights from May 22 through Sept. 7. Hotel guests get extra summer activities too, including pool parties on select days from July 2 through Labor Day weekend, outdoor movie nights from June through September, Dug's Dance Party on Friday evenings at Pixar Place Hotel, friendship bracelets, washcloth creations, and Learn to Draw classes.

The practical piece is park hopping. With big entertainment split across both parks, a Park Hopper ticket can make the anniversary easier to see in one day. If you are trying to keep costs down, a single-park day still works, but choose the park based on the entertainment you care about most.

How to plan it

Start with entertainment, then food, then merch, then photos. Rides fill in around those choices. That sounds backward for Disneyland, but the 70th Celebration is strongest when you make room for the limited-time pieces.

For a one-day visit, Disneyland Park gives the clearest anniversary feel. For a two-day visit, split the parks and use DCA for World of Color Happiness and Better Together. Families should front-load photos and food before the night gets crowded. Collectors should shop early, then stop looking unless the hunt is part of the fun.
