Disneyland Park in Anaheim has opened Edelweiss Lodge, a new covered seating area beside Edelweiss Snacks in Fantasyland.
Construction walls came down Friday, May 22, around the small structure near the old Motor Boat Cruise dock and the path toward Matterhorn Bobsleds. Visitors are reporting that the open seating area followed weeks of construction in that pocket of the park.
The new space keeps the Swiss chalet look already used at Edelweiss Snacks. It has open walls, roof cover, tables, chairs, hanging lights, and painted edelweiss details.
Fantasyland does not have much extra room to absorb snack crowds, stroller traffic, parade movement, and Matterhorn overflow. Extra covered seating gives that corner a more useful pause point before guests head back toward the mountain or Small World corridor.
Edelweiss Snacks continues to serve its regular Fantasyland cart menu.
