Disney Store Limited Time's first location drew a large opening-weekend crowd at Ross Park Mall near Pittsburgh after the temporary shop opened Saturday, May 23.

The Pittsburgh store is the first public test of Disney's new limited-time mall format, which brings Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars merchandise back into a physical Disney Store-style setting. The shop is open at 1000 Ross Park Mall Drive in Pittsburgh.

Laughing Place attended the grand opening and reported a massive line outside the mall before the 10 a.m. ET debut. Its opening-day photos also showed the store's giant key ceremony, themed interior, Disney Parks merchandise, and a Pittsburgh-exclusive T-shirt.

WTAE reported that opening-day lines wrapped around the mall and even outside, and that shoppers had to be turned away after the store reached capacity. The store began booking time slots as the weekend crowd built.

The crowd response gives Disney an early read on whether shoppers still want an in-person Disney Store format after years with fewer traditional mall locations. The second Disney Store Limited Time shop is still planned for Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey this fall.
