Walt Disney World's Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney now covers American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines for guests staying at select Disney Value Resort hotels.

The luggage-transfer service works both ways on eligible domestic flights through Orlando International Airport. Arriving guests can send checked bags to their participating Disney Resorts Collection hotel, then request them through Luggage Assistance after reaching the resort.

Departing guests can drop checked bags at Luggage Assistance from 24 hours to four hours before flight departure. A government-issued photo ID is required at drop-off, and airline baggage fees still run through the airline.

Eligible Disney World hotels and airlines

The participating hotels are Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, Disney's All-Star Music Resort, Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, Disney's Art of Animation Resort, and Disney's Pop Century Resort. International flights are not eligible.

Arrival registration runs from 30 days to 24 hours before departure through BagCheck. Guests need a Disney Resort confirmation number and an airline confirmation number.

Bag delivery to the resort can take up to four hours after flight arrival. Medication, electronics, perishables, passports, and important trip documents should stay in carry-on bags.

A bigger Disney World travel perk

The airline list is the useful part for summer travelers. American and United add large domestic networks to a service that had already covered Southwest.

The program still handles bags, not airport transportation. Guests using the service still need their own ride between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World.

Additional airlines could be added later.
