CrowdLevels visited Six Flags Great America's Legacy Museum during the park's May 30 anniversary celebration and photographed the display inside Emporium.
The entrance sign describes the museum as "a collection of historic items, artifacts and memorabilia" from the park's first five decades. Inside, the room leans into the park's old show costumes, ride models, framed art, opening-era photos, name tags, awards, maps, and small pieces of Great America history that usually stay tucked away.
The Legacy Museum was part of the park's 50th Anniversary Day Bash. The larger 50th Anniversary Celebration runs June 20 through Aug. 9, with American Eagle racing returning June 20, a nighttime spectacular, anniversary food and drinks, and the 50th Anniversary Legacy Store.
