Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop will temporarily move from Marketplace to Town Center at Disney Springs later this summer while its longtime shop is remodeled.
The Marketplace location is expected to reopen in spring 2027 with more indoor seating, shorter wait-time goals, and additional changes that have not been detailed yet.
Ghirardelli Disney Springs Move
Ghirardelli plans to move later this summer. The temporary shop will keep the brand inside Disney Springs during the construction period rather than closing the Walt Disney World location outright.
The current Ghirardelli spot has operated in the Marketplace area since 1996, when Disney Springs was still Downtown Disney. The shop sits near World of Disney, Earl of Sandwich, Rainforest Cafe, and Marketplace Co-Op, which makes it a familiar dessert stop for guests walking that side of the district.
Lacey Zane, Ghirardelli Chocolate Company's vice president of restaurant and retail, said the company plans to continue serving guests from Town Center during the transition before reopening the updated Marketplace shop in 2027.
What Changes for Disney Springs Guests
The move shifts Ghirardelli away from one of the oldest Disney Springs retail corridors for the rest of 2026 and into the newer Town Center side of the property. Disney has not announced the exact temporary-location address or the final operating date for the current Marketplace shop.
The remodel targets one of the biggest pain points at the store: indoor space. Ghirardelli's Disney Springs line can spill outside during busy evenings, especially when guests leave the parks and head to dinner or shopping.
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop remains open at Disney Springs. Guests planning a later-summer visit should check the current Disney Springs directory before heading straight to Marketplace.
