Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 dates

The 2026 calendar starts Tuesday, August 18 and runs through Saturday, October 31. September has the most dates, while October carries the strongest Halloween-week demand.

August: 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, and 30.
September: 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, and 29.
October: 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, and 31.

The Halloween-night date will be the most obvious sellout risk once tickets go on sale. Early August and early September dates should be easier to fit into a trip, especially for families that care more about characters, candy, and the parade than the exact Halloween-week mood.

Ticket rules and sale dates

Oogie Boogie Bash is a separate-ticket event. Regular park admission does not get guests into the party, and each ticket is valid only for the specific event date and hours.

Ticket sales begin June 16 for Inspire Magic Key holders, June 17 for all Magic Key holders, and June 18 for the general public. Each sale starts no earlier than 9 a.m. Pacific time, and pre-sale quantities are limited.

The September 27 event night is reserved for D23 members, with tickets going on sale June 16 through D23.

Tickets must be purchased online and will not be sold on the day of the event. Each guest can buy up to eight tickets per event date. Parking is not included, no discounts apply, and kids ages 2 and under do not need an event ticket.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Premier Pass, and Lightning Lane Single Pass are not available during the party. That matters if your plan is heavy on rides. Treat the evening as a Halloween event first, then use attractions where they fit.

Treat Trails

Treat Trails return in fall 2026 with candy stops and character moments tied to Disney villains and other Halloween personalities. The trails include candy such as M&M'S, SKITTLES, SNICKERS, and other Halloween staples.

Each trail mixes a short character scene with trick-or-treat candy, so the lines can feel more like mini walk-throughs than snack stops. They work especially well early in the night with kids, then again later if the lines calm down after the first parade wave.

Villains Grove

Villains Grove takes over Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Grizzly Peak with lighting, sound, fog, music, and villain-inspired scenes. The 2026 lineup includes Frollo's Sanctuary, Maleficent's Will, Queen of Hearts Garden, Scar's Elephant Graveyard, Dr. Facilier's Friends on the Other Side, The Wicked Queen's Lightning Forest, Home of the Wisps, and Dawn.

This is the slow-down piece of the night. It is built for walking, looking, and letting the lighting do the work. If your group treats it like a shortcut, you will miss why people talk about it.

Frightfully Fun Parade watch item

Frightfully Fun Parade remains a fall 2026 watch item, but Madame Leota's Swinging Wake is the new street entertainment named for the 2026 party. Do not build the night around the parade until entertainment schedules are clearer.

If the parade runs, it is the obvious anchor for a first party night. Pick a viewing time, then build Treat Trails, Villains Grove, food, and rides around that. If Madame Leota's street party is the main street entertainment, plan for that show stop instead.

Madame Leota's Swinging Wake

Madame Leota's Swinging Wake brings a new Haunted Mansion street party to Disney California Adventure for Oogie Boogie Bash. The show uses familiar Mansion moments, ghostly dancers, and multiple show stops around Madame Leota's séance.

The dessert party returns with a new treat lineup inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, but reservations and package details are still pending. Treat it as a separate watch item, not the reason to delay choosing a party date.

PhotoPass downloads

Event wristbands include a QR code for Disney PhotoPass digital photos captured during the party. Photos can be downloaded from the linked MyDisney account for up to 45 days after they are captured.

That makes costumes and group photos easier to justify. Do one daylight or early-evening photo pass before the night gets too dark, then save the later shots for Carthay Circle, parade lighting, and Halloween backdrops.

Costume rules

Costumes are part of the party, but the rules still apply. Costumes should not be obstructive or offensive, and special-event costume guidelines apply throughout the party.

Regular Disneyland Resort rules also matter. Weapons and toy weapons are prohibited, costumes cannot drag on the ground, and masks are not allowed for guests ages 14 or older unless required for medical purposes. Younger guests can wear masks if they do not cover the entire face and allow clear vision.

The comfortable costume usually wins. You still have to walk, eat, sit, use restrooms, move through treat trails, and survive a California Adventure evening without turning the outfit into a project.

The Oogie Boogie Bash VIP Tour is returning for the 2026 event, but the detailed package terms are still pending. Treat it as a watch item if your group wants a higher-touch version of the night.

Do not hold off on the whole trip plan waiting for VIP Tour details unless that tour is the only reason you would attend. The party dates are already enough to pick a travel window.

How to plan the night

Start with one priority: parade, villains, candy, characters, photos, or rides. Oogie Boogie Bash has too many moving parts for a casual "we will see everything" plan, especially with kids.

Families should front-load Treat Trails, snacks, and a parade spot before the youngest guests fade. Adults and teens can leave Villains Grove and bigger ride swings for later, when the first family wave starts thinning.

For date choice, August and early September should be the practical picks. Late October will feel more seasonal, but it also brings stronger demand and less room for indecision once tickets go on sale.
