Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2027 Guide

Princess weekend returns to Walt Disney World from February 25 through March 1, 2027, with a Tiana 5K, Snow White 10K, Jasmine half marathon, Ariel challenge, early-morning yoga, expo shopping, and a new June 8 registration time.

Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend runs February 25 through March 1, 2027, at Walt Disney World Resort. The weekend has three races, one two-race challenge, yoga at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the usual runDisney mix of costumes, early alarms, character stops, expo shopping, and medals you will absolutely protect in your carry-on.

General registration was supposed to open June 2, 2026, at 10 a.m. ET. That did not happen. The new general registration time is Monday, June 8, at 10 a.m. ET.

Registration status

Public registration is now scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2026, at 10 a.m. ET. The original June 2 launch time is no longer the date to plan around.

Princess weekend can move fast once registration opens. Have your MyDisney login ready, know which race you want, and keep payment information current before the new date lands. Do not wait until the queue opens to decide between the half marathon and the challenge. That is how a dream race becomes a browser tab full of regret.

Club runDisney Gold and Platinum registration began May 26, 2026. That early window does not guarantee availability for general registration, and race events can close at capacity.

Race lineup, prices, and themes

The 2027 race themes are clean and easy to remember: Tiana for the 5K, Snow White for the 10K, Jasmine for the half marathon, and Ariel for the Fairy Tale Challenge. The weekend wraps with yoga at Hollywood Studios.

Which race should you choose?

Pick the 5K if you are new to runDisney, traveling with kids, or mostly here for costumes, photos, and a lower-stress first race morning. The 5K still starts painfully early. It just asks less from your legs after the alarm goes off.

Pick the 10K if you want a real race weekend without half marathon training. It is long enough to feel like an accomplishment and short enough that your park day is not automatically over by breakfast.

Pick the half marathon if the 13.1-mile distance is the point. You need the training, the early bedtime, and a morning plan that does not rely on vibes. The finish will feel better if the previous day was not ten hours of park hopping in cute shoes.

Pick the challenge if you want the back-to-back weekend. The challenge means two early mornings, extra expo pressure, more costume and gear planning, and a better story if your legs cooperate.

Proof of time and start groups

Proof of time matters for runners who expect to finish a half marathon in 2 hours and 30 minutes or less. The proof must come from an officially timed 10K, 10-mile, half marathon, or marathon. Self-timed, training, trail, relay, and virtual runs do not count.

The proof-of-time deadline is October 1, 2026. Missing or unverifiable proof puts the runner in the last start group, and start group changes are not made at the expo or onsite.

Everyone else should still enter an honest expected finish time. Starting too far forward helps nobody, and starting too far back can make the 16-minute-per-mile sweep pressure feel closer than it needs to.

Expo, bib pickup, and merchandise

The runDisney Health & Fitness Expo takes place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Runners must pick up their own bib at least one day before their first event, with a valid photo ID and the expo check-in pass from their MyDisney account.

Expo hours are Thursday, February 25, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, February 26, from noon to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, February 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The first day of official event merchandise shopping uses a virtual queue for the runDisney Merchandise Shop. Gold and Platinum Club runDisney members do not need that virtual queue for their early shopping windows. Everyone else should treat the queue like part of the race weekend plan, not a casual errand before dinner.

Race morning bib, bag, and pace rules

The race pace requirement is 16 minutes per mile. A 15-minute training pace is recommended because bathroom stops, photos, crowding, and narrow course moments eat time faster than people expect.

Gear bag check is available for the 5K, 10K, and half marathon. Runners receive a clear plastic bag at bib pickup, and no other bag is accepted for the service. Do not check valuables.

Every runner needs the race bib centered on the front of the outermost garment, visible, unaltered, pinned in all four corners, and not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, or costume pieces. Keep it easy to scan at timing mats and security checks.

Costumes, props, and park plans

Princess weekend is one of the easiest runDisney weekends for costumes, but the rules are not optional. Costumes must be family-friendly, cannot drag on the ground, cannot include sharp pieces, and cannot include weapons that look real. Selfie sticks, strollers, baby carriers, skates, scooters, bicycles, skateboards, and animals are not allowed on the course.

Participants 14 and older cannot wear costume masks. Capes can work if they do not go below the waist. Tutus, transparent wings, hats, themed shirts, and soft handheld props are allowed when they do not create a safety issue.

Guests 14 and older also cannot wear costumes in the theme parks during normal operating hours. If your race look reads as a full costume, pack a change of clothes before brunch or park time.

Yoga is cute, but it is still a 5 a.m. plan

Disney Princess Yoga happens Monday, March 1, at Hollywood Studios. It is a one-hour event with a 45-minute instructor-led session, yoga mat, and complimentary water.

Guests must arrive no later than 4:45 a.m. for check-in. Limited event transportation from Walt Disney World Resort hotels will be available, with exact pickup details coming in the Digital Expo & Event Guide.

Yoga works best if you are staying Sunday night and not trying to fly home right after the half marathon. Otherwise, Monday morning becomes a packing problem with a yoga mat attached.

Hotel and park planning for Princess weekend

Staying on property is not required, but it can remove a lot of race-morning friction. Disney transportation details arrive closer to race weekend, and resort guests should still leave earlier than feels reasonable. Everyone else should plan for road closures, staging-area walks, and the strange silence of being awake while most vacationers are still asleep.

If you are building a park trip around the weekend, keep the hard park days away from race mornings. A half marathon after a long Magic Kingdom night can be done. It can also become a personal attack by mile nine.

A workable plan is expo on arrival day, light park time before race mornings, the longest park day after your final race, and a real meal reservation after the half marathon. You will want food. Possibly a chair. Maybe both at once.
