Disney Cruise Line earned the 2025 Blue Circle Award from the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, giving the cruise line its 13th recognition in the port's voluntary EcoAction Program.

The award recognizes shipping and cruise operators that reduce emissions and other environmental impacts at the Port of Vancouver. Disney Cruise Line uses shore power there when it is available, allowing the Disney Wonder to shut down its engines while docked.

The timing matters for Disney's Alaska program. The Disney Magic joins the Disney Wonder in Vancouver in 2026, the first season with two Disney Cruise Line ships sailing from the port to Alaska.

Two Disney Ships in Vancouver

Disney Cruise Line has treated Vancouver as its Alaska gateway for years, but adding Disney Magic gives the line more presence in a port where shore-power use is already part of the operating routine.

The company is also expanding beyond its current eight-ship fleet. Disney Believe is scheduled to launch next year, and five additional ships are planned by 2031.

Why the Award Matters

The Blue Circle Award gives Disney Cruise Line a public operations marker at a major Alaska cruise homeport as the fleet grows and more ships move through Vancouver.

Disney Cruise Line also ranked No. 7 on Forbes' 2026 Best Brands for Social Impact list earlier this year.
