Universal Studios Hollywood says Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift still opens this summer after an incorrect opening date appeared on the park's website Friday.

The park posted the correction June 5 and said an official opening date is still coming. That leaves the coaster in the same summer 2026 window Universal announced earlier this year.

Hollywood Drift Still Has a Summer Window

Universal Studios Hollywood announced the summer opening window in February. The coaster is the park's first high-speed outdoor roller coaster and is built on the Upper Lot, with track running near the Starway escalators.

The ride uses 360-degree rotating vehicles designed to create a drifting motion. Universal has said the coaster will reach speeds up to 72 mph on 4,100 feet of track.

What Changed June 5

Universal Studios Hollywood did not replace the incorrect date with a new one. For now, guests should treat the official timing as summer 2026 and wait for the park's next announcement before planning around a specific opening day.

The correction matters because Hollywood Drift has already been testing with riders and has been a major part of Universal Studios Hollywood's 2026 marketing. A wrong date can spread quickly once it appears on an official park page.
