Kennywood will enforce its chaperone policy all day Saturday, June 6, tightening entry rules for guests 17 and under at the West Mifflin amusement park.
The regular summer rule starts at 4 p.m. For June 6, guests 17 and under need an adult at least 21 years old with a valid ID to enter at any time of day.
The adult chaperone must enter with the minors and stay in the park during the visit. Kennywood also says its summer security screening, bag-size limits, and outside food rules remain in effect.
CBS Pittsburgh reported that Kennywood expanded the rule after social media posts circulated about a possible unauthorized gathering. The station also reported that Kennywood made the same all-day change for Saturday, May 30.
Kennywood's standard summer chaperone policy runs from April 18 through September 7, 2026. Phantom Fall Fest and Holiday Lights use separate all-day chaperone rules later in the year.
