Hersheypark will permanently close Tidal Force after September 7, ending a 32-year run for the park's giant splashdown ride in The Boardwalk.
The park is giving the ride one final summer before docking the boats. Tidal Force sends riders up a 100-foot lift and down a drop that tops 50 mph, with a splash big enough to soak the midway viewing area.
The final operating day falls on Labor Day, the same date Hersheypark lists as the end of its 2026 summer season. The park has not announced a replacement for the Tidal Force site.
Tidal Force Final Summer at Hersheypark
Tidal Force opened in 1994 and became one of Hersheypark's biggest water-ride landmarks. The official ride page now carries the "LAST SPLASH 9/7" name, and Hersheypark is using the summer season as a farewell window rather than closing the attraction immediately.
The ride sits in The Boardwalk area with Hersheypark's water attractions. Guests who want one last ride should check the park calendar and day-of weather, since outdoor water rides can close for storms or operating changes.
