Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters reopened at Disneyland Park on Friday, June 12, after its refurbishment, putting the Tomorrowland shooter back on the park's operating lineup.

CrowdLevels recorded the ride operating with a 5-minute posted wait at 9:14 a.m. PDT. The first operating samples came during the 8 a.m. hour, after the ride was down for part of Disneyland's opening hour.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is scheduled from 8 a.m. to midnight on June 12, matching Disneyland Park's full operating day.

Tomorrowland Gets a Ride Back

The return gives Tomorrowland back an any-height indoor ride during Disneyland's 70th anniversary summer. Riders spin XP-40 space cruisers, aim handheld laser cannons, and chase Zurg scores through the blacklight arcade rooms.

Disneyland's version already uses handheld blasters. Magic Kingdom's spring refresh of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin was a different project, adding new ride-vehicle screens, reactive targets, updated blasters, and Buddy in the opening scene.

Opening-Morning Wait

The reopening did not start with a heavy posted wait. CrowdLevels hourly data shows a 4.3-minute average posted wait during the 8 a.m. hour and a 5-minute posted wait during the first part of the 9 a.m. hour.
