Dorney Park Extends Talon's 25th Birthday Celebration UPDATE: All Season

The Allentown park is giving the inverted coaster a birthday weekend and an all-season anniversary celebration after Talon opened in 2001.

Dorney Park is marking Talon's 25th birthday with a weekend of surprises for the Allentown, Pennsylvania coaster, and the park says the celebration will continue all season.

The park teased the celebration Saturday morning with new photos from the ride area and a nod to 2001, the year Talon opened. Dorney did not list the full surprise lineup in the post.

Talon is one of Dorney Park's signature coasters, with orange track and blue supports running near the front half of the park. The birthday post gives the ride its own spotlight as Dorney moves through the first stretch of daily summer operations.

Dorney Park Talon Birthday Weekend

The Talon birthday weekend lands one week before Dorney Park starts Viva La Fiesta, which is scheduled for select dates from June 20 through July 26.

Dorney Park is now part of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the combined company formed after the Cedar Fair and Six Flags merger. The park continues to use the Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom name in Allentown.

Update: Dorney Park followed its first birthday-weekend post with a second official Talon message at 9:38 a.m. CDT. The park said guests can celebrate Talon's silver anniversary all season long, so the anniversary push is not limited to the opening weekend tease.
