WDWMagic reported Monday that Walt Disney World is preparing to make reservation checks permanent for guests boarding resort hotel buses at Disney Springs.
The reported plan would require guests to have an active Disney Resort hotel stay, a confirmed resort dining reservation, or a confirmed recreation activity before boarding those buses from Disney Springs.
Disney Springs Bus Verification
WDWMagic reported that Disney tested the process around New Year's and again during the Easter travel period. During the Easter test, Cast Members scanned MagicBands at the Disney Springs bus loop before guests boarded resort-bound buses.
The process is expected to resume before the July 4 holiday week, according to WDWMagic. Disney has not announced an exact start date.
Walt Disney World Transportation Context
Disney Springs buses connect the shopping and dining district with Disney Resort hotels during Disney Springs operating hours. Resort-hotel bus service from Disney Springs ends one hour after the district closes.
Disney's public transportation FAQ still describes complimentary transportation as a guest-wide network. The reported Disney Springs change would narrow access at one specific boarding area during resort-bound bus trips.
