The Poseidon's Fury trident has been removed from The Lost Continent plaza at Universal's Islands of Adventure.

Aerial photos from Bioreconstruct show demolition work in front of the former attraction, including the cleared plaza where the trident stood. A second photo posted Tuesday night shows the trident removal from a closer angle.

Poseidon's Fury closed permanently in 2023. Universal still lists the attraction among its retired experiences, and the surrounding Lost Continent work has continued in stages while the park has not announced a replacement for the site.

The trident was one of the most visible pieces of the former Poseidon's Fury entrance. Its removal is another clear physical change in a section of Islands of Adventure that has been moving away from the old Lost Continent show footprint.

The nearby Doc Sugrue's Desert Kebab House is also temporarily closed during the work. CrowdLevels covered that closure Monday after the quick-service stand was fenced off, with nearby restrooms still open.
