Six Flags Great Adventure has repainted Runaway Mine Train, restoring the 1974 roller coaster's classic look at the Jackson, New Jersey park.

The attraction opened with Six Flags Great Adventure's inaugural season and remains the oldest operating roller coaster in New Jersey. The park's official repaint video includes new footage of the train, track, station area, and wooded ride path.

The repaint uses one of the coaster's original color schemes, according to a park statement published by News 12 New Jersey.

Ryan Eldredge, Six Flags Great Adventure's director of sales and marketing, tied the restoration to preserving older attractions while the park continues to build new rides.

Runaway Mine Train is a family coaster built around the park's lake, with red track running through the trees near Frontier Adventures.

Great Adventure Keeps Work Moving

The repaint comes during a busy construction year for Six Flags Great Adventure. Shoreline Pier opened this season on the Boardwalk, and Project Purple, the park's 2027 coaster, is already rising elsewhere on property.
