Universal Studios Japan adds pink and light-blue Yoshis to Super Nintendo World's 5th-anniversary lineup Sept. 10, along with a limited Power-Up Band key-challenge version that makes the Bowser Jr. final battle easier to reach.

The anniversary event at Super Nintendo World runs March 18, 2026, through Jan. 11, 2027. The lineup includes a Super Star-topped cake decoration at Super Star Plaza, a Super Star Adventure March, a star-sticker activity, original food, an Invincible Mario Power-Up Band, and a Super Star popcorn bucket that plays music and lights up in multiple colors.

Super Nintendo World 5th Anniversary Yoshis

The Sept. 10 update adds colorful Yoshis to the anniversary meet-up lineup with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, and Donkey Kong. The official artwork shows the light-blue and pink Yoshis alongside the main Mario characters and Donkey Kong.

Yoshi is part of the anniversary meet-up lineup, and the Sept. 10 update adds the colorful anniversary Yoshis shown in the new USJ art.

Bowser Jr. Key Challenge Update

The Power-Up Band key challenge also gets a 5th-anniversary version Sept. 10. The attraction still uses the familiar setup: guests collect three keys, then take on Bowser Jr. in the final battle for the Golden Mushroom.

The anniversary version gives guests a limited easier path into that Bowser Jr. battle. The final battle uses full-body movement, including crouching and jumping, and Universal recommends the experience for guests age 5 and older.
