Where to eat in Isle of Berk

  • Best full mealMead Hall has the widest menu, indoor seating, shareable food, kids meals, desserts, and the strongest drink list.
  • Best lighter mealSpit Fyre Grill serves steak, chicken, salmon, and vegan bowls with seating that looks toward Fyre Drill.
  • Best quick biteHooligan's Grog & Gruel serves mac and cheese in bread cones beside Viking Training Camp.
  • Best group orderThe Thawfest Platter at Mead Hall combines chicken drumsticks, salmon, sausage, vegetables, and Nordic fries.

Mead Hall

Mead Hall is the main dining room in Berk and the easiest choice when a group wants to sit down together. The menu stretches from grilled salmon and turkey wings to sandwiches, salads, meatballs, sausage, desserts, mead, cider, and ale.

The Thawfest Platter is built for sharing. It comes with wild berry BBQ chicken drumsticks, grilled salmon, sausage links, roasted carrots, Cipollini onions, and Nordic fries. Hiccup's Grilled Salmon and Gobber the Belch's Turkey Wings turn those same flavors into individual meals.

Kids can order Barf & Belch's Duo Plate with mac and cheese bites and sausage, or Nightlight's Chicken Tenders. Both arrive in a Viking ship tray. Dessert choices include Yaknog, Gronckle's Bread Pudding, and Stormfly's Catch of the Day, a chocolate mousse fish over cereal crumble.

Mobile ordering works differently here than a standard counter pickup. Place the order in the Universal Orlando app, take a table, scan its QR code, and the food is brought out.

Spit Fyre Grill

Spit Fyre Grill is the bowl stop. Stoick's Steak Bowl comes with sticky rice, tenderloin steak, mushrooms, sweet potato hash, Manchego cheese, and horseradish sauce. Meatlug's Chicken Bowl uses ancient grains, harissa chicken, Brussels sprouts, walnuts, smoked cheddar, and paprika dressing.

Hiccup's Salmon Bowl adds grilled citrus salmon, jicama slaw, tomatoes, feta, and avocado crema. Valka's Vegan Bowl combines kale and spring mix with bean salad, pineapple salsa, candy beets, vegan feta, and mango-mint vinaigrette.

The outdoor seating faces Fyre Drill, so this works well when part of the group wants to eat while someone else watches the water ride. It is also a practical middle ground between a long Mead Hall meal and a bread cone on the move.

Hooligan's Grog & Gruel

Hooligan's Grog & Gruel serves mac and cheese in fresh Cuban bread cones near Viking Training Camp. The Classic Mac and Cheese is topped with fish-shaped crackers. PB and J means pork, bacon, and jam here, with pulled pork and peanut bacon jam layered through the cone.

Dragon's Garden Pyre uses lemon-herb chicken, fire-roasted corn, avocado spread, and crushed hot chips. The cones are also sold at Spit Fyre Grill, which gives mobile-order users another pickup option when the Hooligan's line is inconvenient.

How to plan the meal

Use Mead Hall when the group needs air conditioning, a table, or a broad menu. Use Spit Fyre Grill when bowls fit the appetite and Fyre Drill is already part of the route. Save Hooligan's for a snack, a split order, or a quick meal while kids use Viking Training Camp.

If Hiccup's Wing Gliders is the main ride target, handle that queue before settling into Mead Hall. If the group wants Toothless photos or The Untrainable Dragon, a mobile order can keep the meal from taking over the middle of the day.

Menus and availability can change. Check the Universal Orlando app on the day of the visit before building a plan around one dish. Guests must be 21 or older with valid photo ID to buy or drink alcohol.
