Disney Halloween runs September 16 through October 31, 2026, at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. You do not need a separate party ticket. Buy a dated ticket for one park and the seasonal entertainment comes with admission.
The two parks offer genuinely different days. Disneyland has the full parade, the Haunted Mansion overlay, and the most recognizable Halloween lineup. DisneySea has a short harbor greeting plus Lazos de la Familia, a larger Coco program spread through Lost River Delta. If you have one park day and Halloween is the priority, Disneyland gets the edge. DisneySea is the better pick when Coco or the 25th-anniversary atmosphere matters more.

Both parks currently show 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. hours through most of the published Halloween calendar. October 2 is the awkward exception: Tokyo Disneyland is listed to close at 6:30 p.m. while DisneySea stays open until 9 p.m. That is a poor Disneyland date if evening atmosphere and fireworks are important.
Tokyo Disneyland has the fuller Halloween lineup
The Villains Halloween “Into the Frenzy” returns for one 45-minute performance each day. The parade uses the full route, and Disney Premier Access is available for designated viewing areas. Anybody who wants a specific curb, a castle-area angle, or less uncertainty should watch for Premier Access details in the Tokyo Disney Resort app after entering the park.
Night High Halloween adds one five-minute fireworks show each night. Wind can cancel it, even when the rest of the entertainment runs. Treat the fireworks as a bonus. Do not build the whole day around five minutes of pyrotechnics in a resort where weather changes fast.
Haunted Mansion switches to “Holiday Nightmare” from September 15, 2026, through January 7, 2027. The overlay is the clearest reason to choose Disneyland if your group likes attractions more than character entertainment. It also outlasts the Halloween event by more than two months, which helps travelers visiting in November or December.
Cinema Ikspiari, outside the parks near Maihama Station, will screen The Nightmare Before Christmas from September 18 through October 15. It is a fun rainy-evening add-on. It is also time away from the park you paid to enter, so save it for a resort day or an early-closing date.
Tokyo DisneySea is the Coco pick
Disney Halloween Greeting runs twice daily in Mediterranean Harbor. The 15-minute show puts Mickey, Minnie, and friends on a boat with sweets, a large pumpkin, and a group of ghosts. It is easier to fit around rides than a 45-minute parade, though it will not carry a full day by itself.
Lazos de la Familia runs September 16 through November 2 in Lost River Delta. The Coco program adds mariachi and dance performances, a Miguel greeting, colorful Día de los Muertos decorations, and seasonal food. Miguel appears near the second-floor landing for the DisneySea Transit Steamer Line, then changes into his Land of the Dead look in the afternoon.
Miguel's El Dorado Cantina adds a tortilla cheese dog, while Yucatan Base Camp Grill brings back pan de muerto with orange peel. Cinema Ikspiari will screen Coco from October 9 through November 5.
One practical warning: the DisneySea Transit Steamer Line route in Mediterranean Harbor is listed for refurbishment on September 16. Check the exact landing and operating plan in the app if you are visiting on opening day. Miguel's greeting location is on the upper level by the Lost River Delta landing, not the Mediterranean Harbor dock.
Full costumes have a two-week blackout
Full Disney-character costumes are allowed September 15 through 30 and October 16 through 31. They are not allowed October 1 through 15. Disney-inspired colors and ordinary character-bounding outfits remain an option during the blackout, but a wig, character dress, or purpose-made costume can cross the line.
- Adults cannot dress as Tokyo Disney Resort cast members. Children age 11 and younger are exempt from that cast-costume restriction.
- Costumes cannot include sharp objects, real or replica weapons, items that trail on the ground, or props that create a safety problem.
- Swimsuits, visible underwear, and full-body tights do not meet the costume rules.
- Ride teams may ask you to remove accessories that can fall, snag, or interfere with a restraint.
- Costume checks can slow park entry. Leave extra time if your outfit has a large prop, mask, or complicated layers.
There is no changing room inside either park. Restrooms and storage lockers cannot be used for changing or makeup. A paid, reservation-only changing space will operate at Ikspiari's Garden Site from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the two full-costume windows. Reservations and facility details are due in early August. This solves the hotel-to-park costume problem, but it still adds a stop before the turnstiles.
October ticket prices climb on weekends
Tokyo Disney Resort sells fixed-date tickets for one park. Sales open daily at 2 p.m. Japan time for admission exactly two months later. A sold-out date can return without notice, so a red availability mark is worth rechecking if flights and hotels are already booked.

Prices after October 15 are not posted yet. The first half of October already shows a ¥2,500 spread between the least and most expensive dates. If your itinerary can move by a day or two, check the official calendar before locking the park reservation.
Food and merchandise arrive one day early
Halloween food and merchandise sales begin September 15, one day before the event. Disneyland has a purple hot dog, a large special sandwich, and the returning Ursula drink among the early menu previews. Some stores may require a Standby Pass, and Bon Voyage outside the parks may use advance entry reservations.
Three Disney hotels join the season with restaurant menus from September 15 through October 31: Disney Ambassador Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta, and Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. Selected official hotels also have packages with a Halloween pouch for stays from September 16 through October 31.
Vacation packages will offer reserved parade viewing for the Disneyland villains parade. Details are still coming. That package makes sense for a first-time international visitor who wants a guaranteed parade spot and hotel planning in one purchase. It is a splurge for anybody comfortable buying Premier Access after park entry.
Choose the park around one non-negotiable
Choose Tokyo Disneyland if the villains parade, Haunted Mansion, or classic Halloween decorations are the reason for the trip. The park has the deeper seasonal lineup. Avoid October 2 unless the 6:30 p.m. close fits another evening plan.
Choose Tokyo DisneySea if your group loves Coco, wants to see Miguel, or would rather spend the day on DisneySea's regular attractions and fold Halloween into the gaps. The harbor greeting is short, which leaves more room for Fantasy Springs and the rest of the park.
Choose two days if both seasonal lineups matter. Park hopping is not the simple answer here because the standard 1-Day Passport is tied to one park. Two full days also keep a parade cancellation or rainy greeting from wrecking the Halloween part of the trip.
