Deadline reports that Colman Domingo and Robert O'Hara are in talks to write an original live-action Tiana film for Disney. Disney has not announced the project.
The film is in early development, and the writers' deals are not complete. The planned story would spin off from 2009's The Princess and the Frog rather than retell the animated movie.
The original film starred Anika Noni Rose as Tiana and followed her plan to open a New Orleans restaurant before she and Prince Naveen were turned into frogs. It earned three Academy Award nominations.
