Six Flags Great America employees stopped Roaring Rapids and rescued a fox after riders spotted the animal struggling in the water Monday evening.
Chicago television reporter Marcus Leshock shared four photos taken by Will Pierce, a member of the Six Flags Great America Junkies Facebook group. Riders in the circular rafts called to operators, who stopped the attraction and reached the fox.
Employees moved the fox to a wooded area near the ride. It appeared to be unhurt.
Roaring Rapids is a whitewater raft ride in the park's Mardi Gras area.
