San Francisco Screenings Are Free With Reservations

Reservations for both 3 p.m. screenings are handled through the Walt Disney Family Museum. The theater is at 104 Montgomery Street in San Francisco's Presidio, and availability may change.

Disney Worldbuilders premiered at D23 on Aug. 16 and began streaming on Disney+ on Aug. 20. The new museum dates give Bay Area viewers an in-person option after the film's digital release.

Disney Abu Dhabi Will Use Biomes Instead of Traditional Lands

According to WDWNT's report on the film, Imagineering creative executive Tom Fitzgerald explains that the Abu Dhabi park will draw its organizing idea from the emirate's landscapes, including coral reefs and desert. Disney has not announced an individual biome list, attraction lineup or opening date.

The feature-length documentary brings together Bob Iger, James Cameron, Jon Favreau, Kevin Feige, Jennifer Lee, Pete Docter, Dave Filoni, Jared Bush and Josh D'Amaro. The film follows how stories and places feed one another across Avatar, Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Pixar, Frozen and Zootopia.

Iwerks said the film shows how technology moves ideas from the screen into physical spaces. Favreau discusses the machine learning that lets the BDX droids move like living characters. Feige describes the screen-based ride system for Avengers Infinity Defense, which shifts its view with each vehicle and guest perspective at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure.

The D23 world premiere took place Sunday, Aug. 16, four days before the Disney+ release. The San Francisco screenings now follow that premiere and the streaming launch.

Iwerks previously directed The Imagineering Story and Disneyland Handcrafted. She is the granddaughter of Disney Legend Ub Iwerks, who co-created Mickey Mouse with Walt Disney. The D23 2026 guide covers the panel stream and the rest of the weekend schedule.
