Walt Disney Imagineering recorded an amended Notice of Commencement on July 23 for work at 4975 Caribbean Way, inside the construction area for Piston Peak National Park at Magic Kingdom.
The public record lists the work as “demo, infrastructure prep and utility modification.” It names NorthStar Contracting Group as contractor and Walt Disney Imagineering as the owner.
Orange County recorded the amendment as document 20260409355 at 8:47 a.m. The form amends notice 20250371834, first recorded June 25, 2025. It leaves the expiration field blank, so the standard one-year term runs from the new recording date through July 23, 2027.
The address has appeared in earlier construction filings tied to the former Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island area. The July 23 amendment keeps a broad site-preparation work package active. It does not give a construction schedule or identify which part of Piston Peak will be built next.
What Disney Has Announced
Disney has described Piston Peak National Park as a Cars-themed expansion of Frontierland. Plans call for two attractions, including a rally race across mountain terrain and a family ride built around smaller trails.
The project replaces the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island area. Disney closed those attractions in July 2025 and has since moved into demolition and site preparation. The new filing documents another year of authority for one utility-related work package; it does not change the attractions Disney has announced.
