Kamri Peterson is joining the Dancing With the Stars Season 35 troupe. LaughingPlace recorded the announcement Sunday at the first DWTSCon in Palm Springs.

Peterson appeared on Dancing With the Stars: Juniors in 2018, when she was 10. Jenna Johnson introduced the now-18-year-old dancer onstage with Alan Bersten and Pasha Pashkov.

The troupe performs in opening routines and larger group numbers. Its dancers also rehearse as stand-ins and can step in when a professional dancer cannot perform.

Peterson has competed in Latin ballroom events since her Juniors season. LaughingPlace reports that she is a World ProAm champion, a three-time Latin national vice champion and a 12-time Latin finalist.

ABC plans to reveal the full Season 35 celebrity and professional lineup on Good Morning America on Sept. 2. The season will air live on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming on Hulu the next day.
