Production I.G has released new countdown artwork for Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi. Animation director and main animator Kenji Irie drew the first image in a series from nine creators.

The portrait art places a red lightsaber across a blue field with the silhouette of a figure reflected below. Production I.G posted it three days before the complete season arrives on Disney+ on Aug. 5.

The Ninth Jedi returns as a complete series

The official Star Wars series page follows Kara and a group of Jedi searching for allies against a growing warlord. The story expands the world introduced in director Kenji Kamiyama's short from the first volume of Star Wars: Visions.

Production I.G handled the original short and the new series. The nine-part creator countdown gives the studio room to show a different interpretation each day, starting with one of the animators responsible for putting the characters in motion.
