Holiday World is celebrating its 80th birthday today, August 3. The Santa Claus, Indiana, park opened on this date in 1946 as Santa Claus Land.
The original park included a toy shop, toy displays, a restaurant, themed children’s rides and Santa. It added Halloween and Fourth of July sections in 1984, then took the Holiday World name.
