Nekrosis is a new scare zone for Howl-O-Scream 2026, built around a seaside town frozen at the turn of the millennium.

The setting picks up after a New Year's Eve party that never really ended. Guests pass a video store called Howl-O-Flix, piles of late-'90s relics and monsters that stayed behind after the countdown reached zero.

One of four new scare zones

Nekrosis is one of four new scare zones planned for this year's event. SeaWorld's current lineup also includes the new dark-romance zone Just One More Chapter and the returning Trailer Park Tragedy and Woodrot Hollow, with two more zones still to be announced.

The full event will have six scare zones, five haunted houses, two roaming hordes, five themed bars, four nighttime rides and live shows.

Howl-O-Scream starts September 11

Howl-O-Scream runs on select nights from September 11 through October 31. The separately ticketed event begins at 7 p.m., and its gates open at 6:30 p.m.

The event is aimed at mature audiences and includes blood, gore and violent themes. Guest costumes are not permitted.
