Disney streamed Horizons: A Carousel of Progress live on Disney+ at 7 p.m. Pacific on Saturday, August 15. The Disney Experiences showcase was part of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim.
Neil Patrick Harris hosted the presentation as Walt Disney Imagineering leaders and creative talent shared projects taking shape around the world.
Update: Harris performed a medley spanning decades of Disney attraction history during the showcase. Disney released the full 9-minute, 36-second performance early Sunday.
Disney Audio-Animatronics Get an Opening-Number Roll Call
The performance moves from the Caretaker and Madame Leota to Pirates of the Caribbean, the Yeti from Expedition Everest and other familiar figures. Harris is joined by Tig Notaro, Megan Hilty, Jack McBrayer, Skylar Astin and Darren Criss, with cameos from Paige O'Hara and Imagineer Joe Rohde.
The medley includes pieces of “There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow,” “Part of Your World” and “Belle.” Disney's stage photos catch Harris in pirate gear and the full company arranged as a very crowded Carousel of Progress family portrait.
