Marvel Cave Mining Company is part of Silver Dollar City's Ozarks story, with no connection to Marvel Entertainment or Marvel Comics. Marvel Cave sits beneath the park, which grew around the cave's entrance.
How the teaser connects to Thunderation
The campaign has been building around Thunderation's final season. The mine-train coaster is scheduled to close January 2, 2027. In Silver Dollar City's storyline, the Marvel Cave Mining Company has ordered the tracks vacated for geological surveys and a return to mining beneath the mountain.
Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts President Brad Thomas has described Thunderation's retirement as the start of a new chapter. The mining-company campaign is recruiting active miners for duty, while selected children in the Mini Miners Crew are being asked whether they can visit on August 14.
Friday's announcement should supply the next piece. For now, Silver Dollar City has not identified the project behind the campaign.
