Disney and Formula 1 Extend Deal Through 2028, Add Pixar's Cars

The Pixar Cars collection launches August 14, followed by a Lightning McQueen livery at the Italian Grand Prix.

Disney and Formula 1 have extended their collaboration through 2028 and added Disney and Pixar's Cars to the program. The companies disclosed the expanded deal during an August 13 media preview for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim.

A new Disney and Pixar Cars collection with Formula 1 launches at the D23 Disney Store booth and on DisneyStore.com at 9 a.m. Pacific on August 14. Select products reach the Formula 1 online store August 27.

Lightning McQueen is headed to Monza in September

Lightning McQueen will appear in a new livery at the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix in Monza this September. Disney has not identified which car or event vehicle will carry the design.

The 2026 collaboration began with Mickey Mouse and Friends experiences, content and merchandise around select races. The Cars expansion arrives during the Pixar film's 20th anniversary year.

MousePlanet reported the extension, launch schedule and Monza plans from Disney's D23 media preview. Disney and Formula 1 have not yet added those new details to their public corporate announcement pages.
