The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published a Disney application on August 20 for a system that would compare attraction characteristics with a guest's saved preferences or aversions and send an alert when the system finds a match.

US 2026/0245439 A1 is titled Personalized Notification of Attractions Including User Preferences or Aversions. The cover identifies Disney Enterprises, Inc. as the applicant and lists a February 14, 2025 filing date.

The Patent Compares Attraction Data With Saved Preferences

The abstract describes a hardware processor and memory that stores software code and a user preferences database. An attraction provides data about a characteristic of the guest experience. The system compares that characteristic with a stored preference or aversion, then alerts the guest when the two correspond.

The application uses examples such as a guest who wants to avoid blood or gore, or a child who needs to avoid flashing lights, while another guest may prefer the physical thrill of a roller coaster. That turns a broad warning into a possible match for a specific person and a specific experience.

The Filing Does Not Name a New Ride or App Feature

The cover drawing shows an attraction system, a user-preferences database and a handheld or wearable device. The publication does not name a Disney park, attraction, opening date, guest-facing app feature or rollout.

Patent applications describe possible systems rather than confirmed products. This filing does not establish that Disney has built the system, tested it with guests or plans to add it to a particular attraction.
