Marvel Entertainment’s official Marvel Illustrated series has posted a new episode about drawing Spider-Man and the Spider-Verse. Marvel Comics artist Will Sliney hosts the lesson, starting with Peter Parker’s familiar red-and-blue suit before moving through Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Venom and other characters.
Spider-Man Leads the New Marvel Illustrated Lesson
Sliney works through the web pattern on Spider-Man’s suit and explains how artists have changed the character’s look over the decades. The episode treats the drawing as a quick tour through the comics, where each version keeps the same core hero while bringing a different visual style.
The Spider-Verse Lineup
Peter Parker is the original Spider-Man most readers know, while Miles Morales carries the identity in a different universe and later shares the role with Peter. Spider-Gwen, Venom and Spider-Man 2099 come from other corners of the wider Spider-Verse, giving the lesson several silhouettes and costume details to work through without requiring a deep comics reading list.
