Three rescued belugas reached SeaWorld San Diego on August 22 after leaving the closed Marineland of Canada, a new step in the international effort to relocate the Canadian park’s remaining whales.

The transfer is documented in SeaWorld’s official arrival post, which shows the whales being lifted, transported by air and swimming after reaching San Diego.

The broader rescue involves 30 belugas from the closed Canadian marine park. Earlier transfers brought whales to SeaWorld San Antonio and Shedd Aquarium before the San Diego arrival, which adds another U.S. receiving site to the effort.

The official arrival post does not give a public viewing date for the new animals. SeaWorld’s animal-care teams will determine when the belugas are ready for any future introductions or guest-facing schedule.
