Six Flags Entertainment Corporation plans to move its corporate headquarters from Charlotte, North Carolina, to its existing offices at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with the relocation expected to finish by March 2027.
The company announced the move August 25. Arlington will become the primary hub for corporate leadership and shared business functions, while the current office already houses part of Six Flags' corporate workforce.
Arlington Will Become Six Flags' Primary Corporate Hub
Six Flags said Arlington's location near five Texas parks will put company leadership closer to park operations. The move also returns the headquarters to the city where Six Flags Over Texas opened in 1961.
The company will continue operating from its current Choctaw Stadium offices during the transition. Six Flags said the Arlington location will support its network of amusement parks, water parks, and resorts across North America.
Charlotte Will Keep Carowinds and Carolina Harbor Investment
Six Flags said it will keep investing in the Charlotte region, including Carowinds and Carolina Harbor. Rip Roarin' Falls remains scheduled to open at Carowinds in 2027.
The company will also continue to have an office in Sandusky, Ohio. Six Flags said Charlotte-based and shared-services employees will receive transition support, with many expected to have the opportunity to relocate to Arlington.
