D23 will hold its 55 Magical Years of Storytelling Spotlight Series event on Sunday, October 4, at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 28, at 10 a.m. EDT.
The event will pair Walt Disney World anniversary history with a look at the Walt Disney Archives and the ongoing Carousel of Progress refurbishment. The program is scheduled for the Ballroom of the Americas.

Joe Rohde and the Walt Disney Archives lead the October 4 program
Disney Legend Joe Rohde will discuss his 40-year legacy with Walt Disney Imagineering. The Walt Disney Archives will then examine the history and storytelling of the Carousel of Progress, including newly acquired archive material.
Imagineers working on the attraction's newest additions are also scheduled to discuss the ideas behind the refurbishment. The panel runs from 6 to approximately 7:30 p.m. EDT.
VIP guests receive a reception after the panel
VIP ticket holders can attend a dessert reception at the Contemporary Resort's West Rotunda from 8 to 9 p.m. The package includes two character meet-and-greet opportunities, followed by fireworks viewing from 9 to approximately 9:20 p.m.
