Marvel Comics will launch Midnight Spider-Man #1, Midnight Fantastic Four #1 and Midnight X-Men #1 on October 7, 2026. The three books form the opening release for Marvel's new nightmare-driven Midnight Universe publishing line.

Marvel Comics announced the date and the three-book lineup in an official August 28 post. The lineup includes the three creative teams, but no comic prices, retailer-specific events or film or television adaptation were announced.

Three Marvel #1 Issues Arrive October 7

  • Midnight Spider-Man #1 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and ScieTronc.
  • Midnight Fantastic Four #1 by Benjamin Percy and Kev Walker.
  • Midnight X-Men #1 by Jonathan Hickman and Matteo Della Fonte.

Midnight Reinterprets Familiar Marvel Heroes

Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men are among Marvel's best-known comic characters and teams. The new line gives each a separate starting point while keeping the recognizable names in the titles.

Readers who know Marvel mainly from films or Disney+ can approach these as new comic-book stories. The announcement establishes the shared October 7 release and a darker tone; it does not disclose plot details beyond that framing.

Marvel Has Set One Shared Release Date

All three first issues are scheduled for October 7. Prices and retailer availability have not been announced; those details remain to be confirmed closer to release.
