Wait times rose at Disney's Animal Kingdom last week, but the same increase did not spread evenly across Walt Disney World.

CrowdLevels compared September 7-13 with the previous Monday-through-Sunday period. The typical qualifying attraction at Animal Kingdom added about seven minutes. Hollywood Studios added about two minutes, while the typical attraction at both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT was essentially unchanged.

Pandora led the Animal Kingdom increase

Avatar Flight of Passage posted the largest change among the park's qualifying rides, averaging about 13 minutes more than it did on the same weekdays one week earlier. Kilimanjaro Safaris added about eight minutes, and Na'vi River Journey added about seven.

Animal Kingdom's operating schedule grew by only one hour across the full week, so the change cannot be explained by a major expansion in park hours. The analysis also gives each matched weekday equal weight, keeping a longer day from dominating the result.

Hollywood Studios moved up, but only across a small group

Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers each averaged about six minutes more. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run added about three minutes. The typical change across the six Hollywood Studios attractions that cleared the data and downtime checks was a little over two minutes.

That smaller qualifying group matters. Several attractions did not have enough clean, comparable days after extended downtime was removed, so the Hollywood Studios result should be read as a signal from the rides that could be matched fairly.

Magic Kingdom and EPCOT stayed close to the prior week

Magic Kingdom had the broadest qualifying set, with 19 attractions, and its typical change rounded to zero. TRON Lightcycle / Run rose by about three minutes, while Space Mountain fell by about two. Most of the park's attractions finished within two minutes of the prior week's matched average.

EPCOT's typical attraction was also flat. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind rose by about six minutes, with The Seas with Nemo & Friends and Living with the Land up by roughly five and four minutes. Those increases were offset by a larger group with little change.

How CrowdLevels measured it: We matched each day from September 7-13 with the same weekday one week earlier and compared operating-period averages. Attraction days with more than an hour of downtime or too little operating data were excluded. Each attraction needed at least five valid day pairs. Magic Kingdom and EPCOT had identical total park hours in both weeks; Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom each added one hour.

What the numbers do and do not show

The clearest shift was at Animal Kingdom, especially in Pandora. The data does not support describing last week's change as a dramatic increase across all four parks.

Posted waits reflect the mix of ride demand and operations. They are useful for planning, but they are not an attendance count. Current conditions remain available on CrowdLevels' pages for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.
