Disney Dreamers Academy is adding a year-round, multi-year pilot for 200 middle school students in the Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and Houston metro areas.
Participating Boys & Girls Clubs will select the first class. Disney plans to announce the students in October, with programming beginning in January 2027.
What the new pilot includes
The program will mix virtual and in-person sessions at local Boys & Girls Clubs and Walt Disney World. Students will take part in workshops, hands-on activities and career exploration led by Disney Cast Members and other experts.
Engineering and animal sciences are among the possible subjects. The program also includes mentorship, leadership work and visits to Walt Disney World.
Walt Disney World plans to invest in participating Boys & Girls Clubs across the pilot’s first two years, covering the current school year and the 2027–28 school year. Disney did not disclose an amount.
Disney Dreamers Academy continues
The national Dreamers Academy program will continue as the new middle school pilot begins. Since 2008, more than 1,800 students have taken part in the program.
