The Diamond Horseshoe Lounge began its limited-time run Sunday in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom, the Oct. 4 opening date Disney announced in August.

Disney built the menu around six small plates, four nonalcoholic specialty drinks and a lineup of cocktails. The full selection ranges from charcuterie and root-beer-glazed sticky ribs to corn fritters, burnt-end queso and pastry-wrapped mini hot dogs.

Charcuterie and sticky ribs stand out on opening day

TouringPlans staff said they paid for their opening-day meal and singled out the charcuterie and sticky ribs. They praised the cured beef, cheeses and candied bacon on the charcuterie board, then called out the ribs’ tender meat, sweet glaze and crisp edges.

Their one suggested skip was the mini hot dog platter. They liked it, but found the other five food items more compelling.
