Disney and Make-A-Wish UK have granted the 1,000th wish through A Disney Wish, their program for children and families in the UK and Ireland.

Disney first reported the milestone on Sept. 30. Its latest account, published Oct. 5, also detailed this year’s experience at Wotton House in Surrey and a recent event in Ireland.

Accessibility shaped the Surrey event

At Wotton House, live shows were signed in Makaton. Organizers also provided a sensory room and an arts and crafts area with supplies designed for a range of abilities.

A Disney Wish is now in its sixth year. The program creates Disney experiences for Make-A-Wish families who face barriers to visiting Disney parks.

Disney Dream hosted the Ireland gathering

Disney Cruise Line and Make-A-Wish held the program’s first group experience in Ireland aboard the Disney Dream during the ship’s visit to Cork. Disney reported that gathering on Sept. 18.
