Starting October 6, allergy-friendly options at Disney-owned and-operated Walt Disney World restaurants may include 11 ingredients that updated FDA guidance no longer classifies as major tree nut allergens.

The ingredients are coconut, kola (cola nut), beechnut, butternut, chestnut, chinquapin, ginkgo nut, hickory nut, palm nut, pili nut and sheanut (shea).

The change affects how menu items may be classified. Guests must still speak with a Cast Member about an allergy request, and no item is guaranteed to be completely free of allergens. A Special Diets-Trained Cast Member can answer questions at the restaurant.

Menus, recipes and ingredients can change. The new guidance applies to Disney-owned and-operated restaurants.
