Captain Marvel #1 will launch a new ongoing series from writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Rachael Stott in May 2027.
Marvel announced the creative team Friday, October 9, during New York Comic Con. The publisher also released promotional art by Stott showing Carol Danvers in sunglasses and a flight jacket.
The series spins out of the upcoming Avengers run by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto and follows the events of Avengers: Armageddon. Carol finds herself grounded and forced to reconsider what being Captain Marvel means.
Captain Marvel #1 is scheduled for May 2027. A specific release date has not been announced.
