Hersheypark is consulting industry experts and Candymonium’s manufacturer before deciding how the coaster will operate when the park next opens to the general public Friday.
The park gave ABC27 a statement Tuesday saying Candymonium shares a manufacturer and ride type with the coaster involved in Monday’s Six Flags Over Georgia incident. Hersheypark added that each ride was custom-built to its own specifications.
Hersheypark said information about what happened in Georgia was not yet available. The statement did not identify a defect on Candymonium or announce a separate closure for the ride during the park’s scheduled non-operating days.
