Hulu’s new mystery series Phony will premiere with two episodes on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Connie Britton and Sam Nivola lead the coming-of-age story.

Nivola plays Sonny, a teenager who becomes convinced that an imposter has replaced his mother and closest confidant. Britton plays Ellen, the woman at the center of his suspicion. Sonny recruits a group of friends for a covert investigation while the series leaves open whether his fear is justified.

The official preview frames the mystery around a strained parent-child relationship as Sonny enters a new stage of life. Disney has not posted a full-season release pattern on the preview page.

Title and platform availability can vary by region, so viewers outside the United States should confirm the premiere in their local Hulu or Disney+ listing.
