Disney’s live-action Moana will begin streaming on Disney+ on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The movie opened exclusively in theaters July 10, giving it just over three months on the theatrical and home-release track before its Disney+ debut.
Catherine Lagaʻaia stars as Moana, the teenager who sails beyond Motunui’s reef after answering the ocean’s call. Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui after voicing the demigod in Disney’s two animated Moana movies.
The cast also includes John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala. Thomas Kail directed the remake.
Disney+ notes that title and platform availability can vary by region, so subscribers outside the United States should confirm the movie in their local app.
